Monday April 19th from 7:30pm to 8:00pm – Live Chat with Carolina Panthers JJ Jansen!
The chat session will be open to the public and JJ will answer questions regarding football, long snapping and the upcoming long snapping camps!
Hey there, this is JJ. Hope everyone is having an excellent Monday. I’m really looking forward to tonight and answering all your questions about our long snapping camp, and all-things football! It should be a lot of fun. So, fire away!
Hey Mike, great question. The most important part is always the accuracy of the snap. It’s easy to get caught up in the speed, or the other things going on around you, but once you’re over the ball and ready to go, if you can fire an accurate snap, everything else will take care of itself.
We’ll be going over all the fundamentals of long snapping by starting from the ground up. We’ll focus on getting your boy in the proper stance and footwork. From there we’ll take a look at his grip and set up with the ball. Once we’ve gotten the basics to the set up correct, we’ll start practicing some drills that will help develop accuracy and good rotation on all his snaps, as well as improving his strength and balance.
Oh that’s fantastic. It’s great for him to start working on it now. You never know when the skill is going to come in handy. It’s like a lot of other skills: the more practice he has, the more natural the skill will become.

JJ – How’s it going? What’s the most important part of long snapping?

Also, had to switch over to pvacho login but it’s still me here.
Thanks for the question, Mike
Thanks! I have a boy who I’d like to sign up. What are you all going to do at camp?
That’s awesome. Does your boy have any experience long snapping?
10 year old whose a center for the OP Patriots, very little long snapping experience.
